Miranda Forner is an Alaskan based writer and single mom. While not working full time, Miranda and her son spend time camping, hiking, fishing, and enjoying the Alaskan outdoors year-round. Between adventures, writing about the previous adventure and researching the next is par for the course. Through the Honors College at the University of Alaska Anchorage, she obtained a Creative Writing Research Grant to find out if she could learn how to set up a tent, tie a fishing line, and other basic outdoor skills to then teach to her son. This project led to Miranda writing a collection of essays with accompanying photos that she published through a very limited run for family and mentors. Currently, Miranda is a leader in her Boy Scout Troop.
